Missing teeth can impact more than just your appearance—it affects how you eat, how you speak, and how you feel about yourself. At Malvern Dental Care, we provide custom-crafted, highly natural-looking dentures (plates) designed to fit your unique facial structure, restoring both your bite and your confidence.
Tailored Denture Options for You
Because every mouth is shaped differently, we individually evaluate your dental health, lifestyle, and goals to design a denture that feels secure and looks natural.
Full Dentures
What they are: Complete sets of upper or lower teeth, resting comfortably on your gums.
Best for: Patients who have lost all of their natural teeth in one or both jaws.
Materials: High-grade acrylic base paired with durable, life-like acrylic or porcelain teeth.
Partial Dentures
What they are: Removable plates designed to anchor securely around your remaining natural teeth.
Best for: Filling specific gaps while preserving and protecting your healthy natural teeth.
Materials: Can be made from a lightweight, ultra-strong metal substructure (Cobalt-Chrome) or a pink acrylic base.
Immediate Dentures
What they are: Dentures that are fitted on the exact same day your failing teeth are removed.
The Benefit: You never have to spend a single day without teeth. We take detailed moulds of your mouth in previous visits so your new teeth are ready the moment you need them.
Living Well With Your New Dentures
Adjusting to a new denture takes a little time and patience. Here is our expert guide to smooth sailing during your transition:
Custom dentures designed to keep you eating, speaking and smiling with confidence.
Eating: Start with soft foods cut into small pieces, and try to chew evenly on both sides of your mouth. Avoid sticky, sharp, or excessively hard foods while your gums adapt.
Speech: Your tongue and cheeks need time to get used to the new plate. If your dentures “click” or you experience a temporary increase in saliva, practice speaking slowly in front of a mirror—your mouth will naturally adjust.
Soreness: It is completely normal to experience slight tender spots early on. If soreness persists, give us a call. Tip: wear your dentures for a half-day before your adjustment appointment so we can pinpoint exactly where the plate needs tweaking.
Essential Care & Maintenance
Proper care extends the life of your dentures and keeps your gums healthy.
⚠️ Handling Warning: Dentures can easily crack if dropped. Always handle them over a folded towel or a basin of water. Never attempt to superglue broken dentures back together, as this can permanently ruin the material and make professional repair impossible.
Daily Cleaning Routine
Clean after meals: Take your dentures out and clean them using a soft-bristled brush or cloth.
Avoid harsh chemicals: Do not use abrasive toothpastes, strong chemicals, or hot water, which can warp the acrylic.
Give your mouth a rest: Unless advised otherwise for your initial adjustment period, take your dentures out at night to allow your gums to breathe.
Keep them moist: When out of your mouth, always submerge your dentures in fresh water so they do not dry out or warp.
Long-Term Care: Your Mouth Changes Over Time
Over the years, your jawbone and gums naturally shrink and reshape. This means a denture that fit perfectly a few years ago may become loose, which can cause irritation or change your facial features. To keep your smile comfortable and functional, we offer:
Denture Relining & Rebasing: Modifying the fitting surface of your current plate to match your shifting gum line (highly common roughly 3 months after an immediate denture placement).
Regular Check-ups: Even with full dentures, regular dental visits are vital to monitor your gum health and screen for oral tissue changes. If you have partial dentures, regular checks are essential to protect the remaining natural teeth supporting your plate.
